Log4j Software Flaw Haunting Applications

It seems as if the Log4j software flaw is going to haunt many applications for some time to come.

The Associated Press put out an article about the Log4j software flaw, writing that The Cyber Safety Review Board says its “endemic.” Strong words during a global pandemic. When something is labled endemic … people start doing something about it.

Rampart™ has many ways in which it helps to protect applications. One of the main ways is that it blocks zero-day attacks like Log4j. Rampart AI’s CPO Jacob Staples proved as much in a cyber range demo of the product.

“Rampart™ learns what the app does and alerts you to anything else happening in your production environment,” Staples said. “And that gives Rampart™ the ability to handle a wide range of vulnerabilities, even ones they don’t know about, in a way that is really orthogonal to existing approaches. That is what makes Rampart™ uniquely valuable as a technology.”

The Cyber Safety Review Board is a new cybersecurity panel created by President Joe Biden. The Board on July 14th explained the Log4j vulnerability is expected to “be exploited for years to come.” Rampart AI’s CEO Lee Krause has been raising the alarm over this vulnerability.

“Bad actors are being handed vulnerabilities on a silver platter,” Krause said. “The best way to protect your application is by having a resilient one. A resilient application blocks zero-day attacks, continuously monitors your application and keeps your application running as expected. Rampart™ does all that.”

Krause added that these three points of application protection have never been more important than right now.
